In preparing for this class on writing grief, I’ve been collecting recommendations from friends and fellow writers for texts that address grief. As I’ve said before, grief is universal. At one time or another we will all deal with grief and writers will address grief using every form available from poetry and fiction to memoir, from nonfiction articles to lyric and literary essays and even young adult literature and children’s books. And of course there is a large selection of self-help and nonfiction books. Most of my selections deal with death.
